The Volunteer Manager will allow you to assign jobs and shifts to your volunteers as well as create detailed reports and send email in bulk. Before you can start assigning jobs and shifts for your volunteer event, you will need create a Volunteer Manager Instance for you volunteer event.


Step 1


Login to your Administrator account and access the SMART Administration area of your account.


Step 2


Click Volunteer Manager on the left navigation menu.


*Note*: If you have not created Roles yet, you should do it first before creating your Volunteer Manager Instance.

Step 3


Click Add a New Instance on the top right of the page.



Step 4


Fill in the name of your volunteer manager instance, the volunteer coordinator's name, their email address, and phone number if applicable.



Step 5


Select the dates in which your volunteer event takes place, the time zone, and the availability blocks that volunteers can choose from.


*Note*: You will be able to create shifts of specific time slots (e.x. 9am to 12pm etc.) later inside the volunteer manager. This is just a way for volunteers to specify availability when registering.



Step 6


Select the volunteer event(s) to draw registered volunteers from, then Save your Instance.


*Note*: Only Volunteer Type events will be shown in the list below. Please read the below article if you haven't created a volunteer registration yet.
